Raiders of the North Sea meeple designs

Raiders of the North Sea Meeple designed by The Noble Artist for Meeplesource, to accompany the board game Raiders of the North Sea

Raiders of the North Sea meeple commission

I was commissioned by Meeplesource to create a range of meeple art to supplement the board game Raiders of the North Sea by Garphill Games. Garphill Games often use “The Mico” (Mihajlo Dimitrievski) for their artwork. We were encouraged to come up with a similar style. The style is a real blast to work in. I love that I could create a little homage to an artist who’s work I really enjoy.

What’s a meeple?

I’ve been working providing board game meeple design for Meeplesource for several years now. Over that time I’ve designed countless meeples for their store. To the uninitiated, ‘meeples’ are playing pieces used in board games that represent player’s characters or resources during a game. Often games will simplify these to a very basic level. Meeplesource offers a premium alternative. Got a favourite game? Why not add some more interesting pieces?

Share the love!

I love my job. I’ve always wanted to be an artist working on fantasy settings, creating worlds that give people real escapism and suspend their disbelief. One of the things I absolutely love though, is the interaction with people who are following along with what I’m doing. Hearing comments, and seeing my work make it’s way around the world makes me so happy! So please go ahead, share my posts with people you think would like them. It really helps me to continue to do what I do.
