A fantasy author needs a book cover for new novel
It’s a pretty normal that a fantasy author needs a book cover. It’s a service I love to provide. To create that point of immediate contact between an author and their audience. The old saying “don’t judge a book by it’s cover is only present, because more often than not, we do judge things on first impressions. The cover is the thing we see first, and therefore, becomes the first impression a reader will have of the book. Get this right, and you’re going to get a lot more interest than something with a poor or uninspiring cover.
Fantasy author Eddie Bar’s commission
Eddie Bar, a fantasy author found me on Twitter. Once I’d shown him some of my artwork, he commissioned me to work on his book, The Rose of Amzharr (above). I was pleased to hear his ideas for the cover. It was more graphic or stylistic than some of the more painterly pieces I usually work on (below). I love adding diversity to my portfolio, so this piece was a great new challenge for me.
If you need a book cover designer
If you’re looking for a book cover artist, feel free to snoop through my illustration portfolio or head straight over to contact me for work. You’ll find my email address and some handy forms which guide you through some of the starting info I’ll need to be able to quote for you. Typically I’m booked up a month ahead of time, but do drop me a line if you have anything time sensitive. Sometimes I’m able to move things around in a pinch. Hope to hear from you! In the meantime, stay informed of my new work and availability and sign up for the mailing list.
Share the love!
I love my job. I’ve always wanted to be an artist working on fantasy settings, creating worlds that give people real escapism and suspend their disbelief. One of the things I love is the interaction with people who are following my work. Hearing comments, and seeing my work make it’s way around the world makes me so happy! So please go ahead, share my posts with people you think would like them. It really helps me to continue to do what I do.
