The Grondle, a fantasy beast from the mind of Lance Vangundy
I was recently commissioned by regular client, Lance Vangundy to create some of the incredible fantasy beasts from his series of books. In The Rune Fire Cycle series, we’re working on fleshing out the visuals, to really build the world around the reader. Lance’s vivid creatures make for great briefs, and this, the Grondle is one of my favourites. A half bull, minotaur type creature, but with a centaur lower body, they’re absolute powerhouses. Give it an axe, and you’re in trouble. I will post more of the work we’ve done world building. I’ve already posted about the Grot.

I love my job. I’ve always wanted to be an artist working on fantasy settings, creating worlds that give people real escapism and suspend their disbelief.
