Dragon art

Dragon queen art work. A female dragon rider with her golden dragon. Fantasy art by The Noble Artist

Dragon art is the best!

I love painting dragons, it’s so much fun. I love how varied they can be. Even in traditional lore, about different coloured dragons, with different strengths and weaknesses there’s so much to play with. Then you have an entirely new setting and you can play even more.

Getting the opportunity to design a dragon, or design any creature concept art, is a blast. You just get to go wild and let your imagination take you anywhere.

I’ve been working with author Tobin Marks on this piece for his SFF books. This is one of several I’ve painted for him to help with his fantasy world building. World building is another of my favourite things. It feels like sinking your teeth into a project in a much bigger way than a standalone novel cover. You begin to get a real handle on the world you’re populating. It means the art just feels really real and fits the setting better as you build.

If you need dragon art for your next novel or game

If you’re looking for an artist who can provide dragon illustration, feel free to snoop through my illustration portfolio or head straight over to contact me for work. You’ll find my email address and some handy forms which guide you through some of the starting info I’ll need to be able to quote for you. Typically I’m booked up a month ahead of time, but do drop me a line if you have anything time sensitive. Sometimes I’m able to move things around in a pinch. Hope to hear from you! In the meantime, stay informed of my new work and availability and sign up for the mailing list.

Share the love!

I love my job. I’ve always wanted to be an artist working on fantasy settings, creating worlds that give people real escapism and suspend their disbelief. One of the things I love is the interaction with people who are following my work. Hearing comments, and seeing my work make it’s way around the world makes me so happy! So please go ahead, share my posts with people you think would like them. It really helps me to continue to do what I do.
