Epic Sci-Fi Art for an epic novel

I was commissioned by Nathan Doverspike to create the cover for his Aetherial War series. Nathan is also designing a board game, so has a lot of existing art for me to reference when I was working on this piece which was pretty handy. It also meant when I came to make the animated promotion video below, I had more than just the cover to animate.

Using the book cover I designed in layers and the 3 character art pieces I was able to get from the client’s other artist, along with some awesome stock videos and images I put together this animation. Nathan has a big launch planned for the book, so this goes a little way to make the SFF book launch feel that extra bit special. I’m becoming quite adept at animating my own artwork. It’s something I’m getting more client requests for, and I really enjoy doing. It adds more life to my pieces, and is always a great talking point when I post them online!

Share the love!

I love my job. I’ve always wanted to be an artist working on fantasy settings, creating worlds that give people real escapism and suspend their disbelief. One of the things I love is the interaction with people who are following my work. Hearing comments, and seeing my work make it’s way around the world makes me so happy! So please go ahead, share my posts with people you think would like them. It really helps me to continue to do what I do.
