Commissioned book character art for Eddie Bar
Author Eddie Bar commissioned me for a pretty unique brief. I was to paint two pieces featuring the characters from his fantasy books. One with the characters in their “original forms” with their reflection showing in the lake that betrays their true forms (above). The other a version of the lake vista, with them in their true or evolved forms and the lake reflecting their original, cloaked forms(below).
This was a really cool concept to work on. I love being a fantasy artist for commissions like this. They provide a bit of a challenge, some problem solving and create a bit of a narrative for the viewer.
Eddie’s characters are also really diverse. The ethereal shape shifter, the demon, a mole veteran warrior. All make for cool things to paint and consider.

Share the love!
I love my job. I’ve always wanted to be an artist working on fantasy settings, creating worlds that give people real escapism and suspend their disbelief. One of the things I love is the interaction with people who are following my work. Hearing comments, and seeing my work make it’s way around the world makes me so happy! So please go ahead, share my posts with people you think would like them. It really helps me to continue to do what I do.
