Fantasy TTRPG cover art

You may have seen the artwork I shared for Chris Zimmerman’s fantasy TTRPG in a blog a few weeks back. After seeing the covers I’d done, Chris decided his rulebook was due an update too. It was a lot of fun getting all the classic fantasy monsters into the artwork. We have a black slime top right, a giant scorpion and of course some undead warriors rushing at the heroes!

What is a TTRPG?

I keep talking about them, so I should probably explain what it is… A TTRPG is a Tabletop Roleplay Game. A type of game where players take on the roles of characters to play through a story driven experience, often guided by a set of rules and a Game Master or Dungeon Master. More recently I’ve worked on games that do not have a Games Master and the rulebook allows all players to play their own characters.

Whether there is a Games Master or not, it becomes a collaborative storytelling experience where imagination drives the adventure, and the story evolves based on player choices.

Popular examples include Dungeons & Dragons, Call of Cthulhu, and Pathfinder. The “T” in TTRPG comes from the word Tabletop. Meaning it’s played with pencils and paper, on a table often with dice and miniatures rather than a digital video game.

What other TTRPGs have I worked on?

I’ve worked on a fair few now, most notably both Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40,000 roleplay games by Cubicle 7, licensed by Games Workshop. I’ve also worked on the very cool Legendary Kingdoms, Tyrant’s Quest, Domain of the Deathless King, Halaster’s Compass and the upcoming Dark Moon Rises.
