Industry interviews #1: Networking with fantasy authors

Introducing a new feature for The Noble Artist

I’m really pleased to announce a the interview project I’ve been wanting to do ever since I began rubbing shoulders with the some familiar industry faces. Over the past month I’ve contacted a range of creative industry folks I’ve met on my travels and created a schedule. The aim is to give people interested in the creative industries such as board game design, fiction writing and art the opportunity to gain some insight into how things work.

I hope our informal interviews will help to share resources or anecdotes which will help people develop or even network. It’s a really close knit community, and once you’re in it’s all pretty friendly!

Interview #1: Joel Norden- How to network with big names in fantasy

For our first interview, I’ve asked Joel Norden of Knights of the Northwest, publishers of the fantasy series Dragonband to discuss his growing network of fantasy authors. Joel has had an incredible journey so far, and is now working on an anthology of short stories. Not only that, he’s managed to get loads of huge names on board from his excellent networking. Ed Greenwood, Richard A. Knaak, Jean Rabe, Ree Soesbee, Aaron Rosenberg and Lucy A Snyder are just a few of the names involved, you might recognise them from franchises such as Warcraft, Star Trek, Warhammer, Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance. If you’re a fantasy novel fan, you’ll be as awestruck as I have been.

I won’t spoil any more, please check out the video and see what Joel has to say!
